Changing the email address

  1. Hi. I took a look at the WordPress support pages, and found this article on email change. Still I am not sure I understood it.

    Could somebody explain it to me a bit closer please?
    Can I or can I not change my email address?
    I am the only author of the blog, and therefor there is only one single email address that is connected with my blog.
    I would like to change it, into the other one.

    Is this possible?

  2. You can change your e-mail address.

    To change the e-mail associated with your user account, you can change it at: https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/account/

    For your blog, after changing the address above, verify that this e-mail address is correct (if not, change it).

    I changed my email from the first link. Immediately received an email from WordPress to that new email account, and clicked on the confirmation link in that email.
    So what I have done now is changed the email address of my user account at both WordPress and Gravatar?

    The second link you gave me is related to the email account to which the notifications about possible replies on my blog, will be sent at. Right?
    So basically I can leave this blog email unchanged if I want to?

    What I am trying to ask is: whether of or not I have to have the same email accounts for my user account and blog?

    Automattic owns both Gravatar and WordPress.com. A WordPress.com account is a Gravatar account.

    No you do not need two but if you wish you can enter two different email addresses.

    You have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com.

    Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

    Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

    When changing email addresses try changing it at http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/ first.

    If that doesn't work, try Users -> Personal Settings in your blog's Dashboard.

    Note: After the change you will receive an confirmation email. Please be sure to check your spam/junk mail filter in your email client, if you cannot locate it.
