Chateau subpage help...

    Hey everyone,

    I have been using the Chateau theme for a while now for my site
    http://www.germainviolins.com

    I have a few pages that have subpages, which of course show up when highlighting the links to the enclosing pages

    Just recently, the visual appearance of the dropdowns when highlighting my page titles "currently available" and "special projects" has completely changed.

    It used to have a black bounding box, with contrasting font color, looked really nice and seamless. now, it has a grey bounding box, that doesn't even contain all of the text of the subpage titles, and has a hardly lighter font color, making it look quite unpleasant.

    Can anyone venture a guess as to why this has changed on me? is there anything I can do on my end to get it back?

    thanks in advance

    The blog I need help with is blog.germainviolins.com.

  2. @christophergermain,

    The semi-transparent background for the submenu has been added around 7 weeks ago to help the submenu items to be visible on blogs that have custom background. The reason why we did was that the custom background can be any color and in some cases the submenu items are not visible enough without any background color.

    We've released a fix for submenu items to prevent them overflow so one issue is resolved :)

    Your blog's background is black so you don't really need the semi-transparent background but we need to keep it for other blogs, unfortunately. I can suggest two options if you really need to get rid of the semi-transparent background.

    1. Subscribe Custom Design and override the CSS to remove the semi-transparent background. The following snippet would do.

    .custom-background #menu li li a {
    	background: transparent;
    }

    2. Remove the background image and color, and replicate something similar with using the Custom Header. The hanging effect you have now is impossible just using the custom header though... Then set color scheme to Dark.

    Hope it helps. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.

    Thank you so much iamtakashi! If I go with the custom design override, do I need to add that snippet in a certain location of the CSS sheet? also, where can I find the overflow fix?

    oops, forgot to @ you @iamtakashi

  5. The overflow fix has been deployed already, are you still seeing an issues in this area?

    The style can go anywhere in the Custom CSS upgrade.
