Chunk Theme: Size of quote TEXT font doesn't change with this code you provided:

    I changed the "font-size" down to 6px and it doesn't change the size of the TEXT:

    1. Can you tell me how to change the TEXT font size in a quote?

    2. How do I change the font to the match the font of the body of the post?

    You just gave me this code:

    blockquote {
        border-left: 10px solid #123456;
        font-size: 15px;
        background: #fff;
    }

    Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is mybigfatdivinecomedy.com.

  2. You need to clear your browser cache and refresh that page. The text in the blockquotes are virtually just a dotted line.

  3. Here is the original blockquote CSS from the original stylesheet. You have to create declarations in your blockquote CSS to override whatever it is you want to change (font-family, etc.).

    blockquote {
        background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #EEEEEE;
        border-left: 10px solid #36BCAB;
        color: #000000;
        font-family: Georgia,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
        font-size: 15px;
        padding: 10px;
        text-align: justify;
    }

    Re: font-family noted above:

    1. Why does it show 4 different fonts in the blockquote code? (Georgia, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif)

    2. I actually really like the font that show up in my blockquote and would actually like to use it for my website but of the 4 I don't know which one it is. Do you?

    Re: Quote text size

    3. I think what your saying is that the pixel I had changed it to to try and get it to change ... 6pixel ... is showing up as 6pixel when you view it (dotted lines) ... but yet when I view it ... after emptying browse cache and history for the last week, it is still showing as the original sized text ....hmmmm .... although the bar to the left DID change to the color I wanted (changed from green to purple) ... the quote text size doesn't show as changed ... what to do?

  6. 1. That's called a font stack. In basic HTML and CSS, you list out fonts like that and then the user's computer picks which font to use based on what fonts are installed on that computer.

    2. On http://mybigfatdivinecomedy.com/2011/09/05/creating-our-new-reality/ the font in the blockquote is Ronnia because that is what is setup on your Appearance → Custom Design → Fonts page, and it gets used because it is a more specific rule than putting a font stack in CSS.

    3. Ah, that's happening because of the settings on the Fonts page again. The Fonts page is more specific. You have set the body text to +3 on your Fonts page and that is overriding the CSS you're trying to add. Try this instead:

    blockquote {
         border-left: 10px solid #36BCAB;
         font-size: 9px !important;
         background: #fff;
    }

    Thanks! That did it!

    1. How can I change the overall size of my post entries to a larger font size? I would like it larger than +3.

    2. How do I change the font size of my sub-title?

    Audrey

  8. 1. If you are talking about the text in the body of the post... adjust the % font size as you desire.

    .hentry .main {
    font-size: 100% !important;
    }

    2. This will change the site description font size.

    #site-description {
    font-size: 100% !important;
    }
