  I’m used to using Markdown.

  Having just posted my first post on the forums, I found that surrounding code with backticks – as suggested beneath the comment box – turns them into code blocks, rather than what I though would happen: just an inline, monospaced style.

  I mean: an inline, monospaced style versus a code block

  I think the help text would be clearer if it read “You can also put blocks of code in between backtick ( ` ) characters.”

  My! <code> doesn’t behave how I expect, either.
