coComments

  1. I was invited to uses coComments. Is there a way to add it to my site? (The coComments box)

  2. Haven't found one yet but I'm locked out of it as I'm a Netscape user.

edit: No, it's a JavaScript that has to be added to your theme.

  3. No. It has nothing to do with the theme.

    it works for any theme.

it is something to be added to your browser. it works for any wordpress powered site. please read their site carefully.

  4. it is something to be added to your browser. it works for any wordpress powered site. please read their site carefully.

I did. I also read Chartreuse's post as well. He or she is talking about the box that you can add to your site, not the bookmarklet or the page at their site that you're thinking about. Please read posts carefully. :)

See here, third picture on the right bottom.

  5. Anyway, if you want to display something on the sidebar other than what the theme is providing, you need to edit the sidebar.php.

WP.com does not allow the template editing for security reasons.

so, coComment will only work with wordpress running on your own server.

    Thanks.

That's not true. The coComment feature works perfectly fine with all wordpress.com blogs. I know. I've been using it.

  7. hmmmm... will it work?

[edit] Gee... for something that allegedly doesn't work, seems as though it worked just fine with the above small sentence.

  8. The tagging portion of coCo works fine with WP.com

We are unable to add the script that displays your comments as we are unable to edit the theme.

There's three seperate parts to coCo. (The third part is a website at their site)

  9. true, but I think he means "work" as inside the sidebar :)

  10. An old topic, but I want to ask anyway. I couldn´t find the answer.

I have succed to add the commentbox to a Rss widget, but I woundering if anyone knows if I can add something so people can add me or at least know that I´m using coComments in other ways then Rss.

Actually though I´ve been reading about coComments whole day. I cant say I understand it completely, but it sure would be nice to follow comments in an easy way.

  11. I have a firefox 2 browser and have cocomment as one of the extensions. It works wonderfully well. Perhaps this is the solution for you? Do you have a firefox2 browser?

  12. Yes I have that extension too, but I don´t get those 'notice' things as mail, diffrent cocomment colors, down in the statusbar.

But I didn´t mean that in my question. I ment, How shall I know if you or others use coComment? Isn´t that importent for the use of it?

  13. I use coComments only to keep a record my own comments. I don't really know or care who else is using it. I am aware of the "your community" feature but I don't use it. I don't think it's important but maybe you do. :)
