Code not working

I was trying to construct the front page of my website, and all was working fine until... well i don't know - the code just stopped working.
I went back into my revisions, and restored one - still no luck.
So i copied the code of a revision (For safe keeping as it kept on reverting back to some failed coding...) and when ever i pasted it into the editor (got rid of all un-working code) and looked in the visual editor it was all fine, but when i updated the page it still didn't work.

    the website is campbellmckenzie.wordpress.com

and this is the code i was trying to apply..

<span style="font-weight:normal;font-size:13px;color:#c0c0c0;">____________________________________________________________________________________________________________</span><br /> <h1 style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#c0c0c0;">/<a href="http://campbellmckenzie.wordpress.com/about/">About Me</a>/ /<a href="http://campbellmckenzie.wordpress.com/everything-in-one/">Blog</a>/ /<a href="http://fallenbetweencracks.wordpress.com/">Photography Site</a>/</span></h1><br /> <span style="font-weight:normal;font-size:13px;color:#c0c0c0;">____________________________________________________________________________________________________________</span><br /> <h1>A quick intro</h1><br /> <div id="articlebody" style="text-align:justify;">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat. Note: when ever i paste the code in and update the page, it seems to get rid of all the tags
the <h3> tags etc.. leaving the page unformatted..

I am having the same problem. All tags are gone/removed when publishing.

  4. I am seeing the same issue. I started a test blog in order to help a friend troubleshoot. It appears that whenever an update is run most tags are removed, except <p> and

  5. Th problem started happening shortly after this went live:

    New Features: Linking, Sorting, Paging
Oh my! It’s that time of year again, when the folks over at WordPress.org start putting the finishing touches on the next version...

The new features went live, the post at the WordPress blog went up and appeared as a notice in our dashboards and then this problem with saving work and tags, links, etc. disappearing from them started happening. I've tried restoring to an earlier version of a draft post I was working on, but at the next save, it's all gone again.

In the 4 years I've blogged here, I've notice when new features go live, sometimes wonky things happen. I've found the best thing to do is chill... and come back later (or since it's 10:30 pm for me... tomorrow) when usually they've sorted it out for us.

    Hope that helps!

  6. Same problem here all the html is being stripped from my posts

    Same problem here

  8. See this other post and the staff response.

    http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/disappearing-photos?replies=4

They are aware of the issue and looking into it.

  9. @campbell711, a couple notes on your code. You cannot use h1 in the body of a post as it is not allowed by the doctype.

Also your spans for the lines should be "p" tags, or you will have to put them inside p tags since span tags cannot exist on their own. They have to be contained in a pair of p tags.

  10. Thanks for the link thesacredpath... the option I posted was to chill and wait for them to handle it, but your link at least gives others something to read while they're waiting!

    Nice to 'see' you again!

  11. The following is valid code (spans replaced by "p" and h1 replaced by h2.

Don't expect this to work until after staff gets done with the tinkering in the backend on the editor as right now even the h2 and h3 tags are getting stripped.

    thank you very much thesacredpath
i'll wait out for WP to fix it, good to know they are already onto it.

  13. Yup, happened to me, too. Went to edit two pages of my blog and random formating code was messed up... moving from one word or phrase to the whole rest of the document. Restoring from previous archived versions had no effect, or rather, caused the archived copies to have the same errors. When I removed the improper code, it removed all of my hyperlinks and formatting on both pages. Lots of work just POOF gone. Thanks a lot...

  14. @campbell711, yeah I was surprised they were on it so fast. Once they get things sorted out, I'm almost certain the code above will work just fine. I ran it through the W3C validator and what I have above came out clean.

@thesacredpath , thanks, could you explain what you meant by h1 tags not working? they seemed to show on the page when the formatting was working?
    thanks again

  16. Major major problems with formatting my new post tonight!! It all looks fine until I hit preview and then everything goes haywire and jumbles up at the bottom. I have html code in there for a baseball standings table, and the code completely vanishes when I hit preview and the table won't format. I know you're working on the vanishing pictures tonight but MANY THINGS are crapping out.

  17. Staff is working on it as I said above.

  18. It looks like things are working again now.

@campbell711 give that code I gave you a try. It now works in my test blog.
