Come on Zamanta

  1. Is it that hard to find me a picture of a midget (little person)? All I'm getting is cars..

The blog I need help with is theuglymoose.wordpress.com.

  2. Try Google images. The things they come up with is surprising.

  3. Google images = copyright. Be careful also.

  4. Got it, searched on Warwick Davis. Was watching Life's Too Short on HBO, and the main character is Warwick Davis playing himself. So a quick search on his name, and hey presto!

  5. Yeah, I prefer to stick with Zamanta for that reason.

  6. Re copyright. Yes I understand that. I always credit Google Images and I have a form on my Disclaimer page just in case I have inadvertently infringed someone's copyright so they can contact me.

  7. Ahem. "I always credit google images".

Google Images does not own the copyright of the images it displays. It deserves no credit. It's just a search engine. If you have used images that you have found this way without asking permission, you HAVE infringed (and I say that as an inveterate infringer).

Google Images is only allowed to display thumbnails of those images because they are so small. That's why a thumbnail in the US is generally interpreted as Fair Use, whereas a full-sized image is not.

  8. There are a lot of free use sites for images. Just to be on the safe side, I'd use them. The ones I use most often are

    http://www.everystockphoto.com/

    http://www.sxc.hu/ <--stock.xchng

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/images/

If I don't find anything there, I go ahead and infringe and hold my breath. Because I'm a rebel like that.

  9. I have a resources page and if you scroll down to "images (free sources)" you will find 71 sites.
