Comment Box Problems

  1. I have not checked the "Users must be registered and logged in to comment" box under "Other comment settings on the "Discussion Settings" page. However, my readers are still being required to log in before commenting. Am I doing something wrong?

  3. The first time I tried to comment on a WordPress blog and was confronted with the need to register, I didn't even understand what that meant--so I exiting without commenting. Now this is happening to my friends who want to comment on my site. I need for anyone to be able to comment (without having to warn them not to enter an email address). I also want for them to be able to give an email address (without having to log in) so I can email them requesting a mailing address if they win a giveaway. I can't tell you how important this is to me. Please reconsider the decision to make logging in a requirement for anyone who offers an email address.
