can someone please re-activate my comments? i closed them a long time ago but i can't term them back on!!!!

You are misunderstanding the reality. It is you as the blog owner who has the option of allowing comments or not. You can "turn them on again" having previously turned them off.
dashboard -> options -> discussion
on this page fill in the Discussion Options as you so choose and then click "update options"

what did you exactly do repeatedly? and what do you mean by reactivate your comments?
try again what tt has suggested and if it still doesn't work, send feedback
