carlykablooeyComments are going to spam that are not spam. I've approved many comments from a regular reader before and lately all her comments are going to spam and I have to manually check spam and approve each one. I've heard this is a problem that is across all of wordpress. What is going on? Is there a setting I can change to stop that from happening?

No this is not a common issue. From time to time legitimate comments may ned up in the spam filter. All we do is keep "unspamming" them and Akismet eventually learns.
