COmments in cutline theme

  1. hi,

I chose the cutline theme and my setup is only allowing wordpress members to leave comments, I checked the faq under moderate comments and it say to look for a line on the discussion options pages and that line to put a check in is not there.
How do I allow anyone to comment on my blog.

  2. Go to Dashboard -- > Options -- > Discussion and set your parameters there.

Also, please change your forum profile name to link to your WordPress.com blog. Right now it's linking to a commercial site and we can't find your blog to take a look. Save us time and trouble and link the name to your blog here, please.

    Discussion Options
    Usual settings for an article:
(These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)

___ * Allow people to post comments on the article
    Click "Update Options" to save

  4. My blog is http://studio259.wordpress.com/ and I went to options, discussion and there is no option that says anything about wordpress only members. THat is why I dont know how to fix this.

  5. Go to Dashboard -- > Options -- > Discussion and look for this
    Discussion Options
    Usual settings for an article:
(These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)

___ * Allow people to post comments on the article
checkmark and click "Update Options" to save

  6. That is checked on the options discussion page and people are writing me telling me they cant comment unless they log into wordpress.

  7. Then Go to Dashboard -- > Options
    scroll down to
Membership: ____ Users must be registered and logged in to comment
uncheck this and click "Update Options" to save

  8. thanks I found that, I was on the wrong page, I appreciate your help. New to wordpress, still getting used to things. Thanks again.

  9. I left a comment when logged in to wp.com and I logged out and could not leave a comment. The last set of instructions immediately above this tells you how to change the setting.

  10. No problem. I'm glad it worked out for you. And just in case you haven't noted this there are separate instructions for Cutline images http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/23/cutline-and-images/

  11. D'oh. Sorry, I always get tripped up with that "comment settings in two places:" thing. Thanks for stepping in, TT.

I forget it from time to time as well. So keep an eye on me too, okay.
