Comments not showing up on the blog

  1. Hello there,
I'm just wondering, why comments aren't showing up? I have approved them, and I see them when I go to comments, but not on the blog.
You can check out this page, it says 4 comments. but they don't show up. is it a setting, widget on the theme? The theme I'm using is Nishita.
I checked the settings under Discussion Settings, and it's not disabled.

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is cyberphoto.wordpress.com.

  2. That is very strange (I've tried it myself and the comments link won't open at all). I'll flag this for staff to look at. Please be patient.

  3. When the comment link is there but it doesn't work, it means comments are disabled but pings are enabled. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the post title, click Quick Edit, check the option "Allow Comments", click Update.

  4. Hi Justpi,
I followed you instructions, the Allow Comments, was already checked.

I tried removing the check mark, updating, reloading page, and then re-enabling, and reloading page. No change.

  5. In that case go to Settings > Discussion and uncheck the option "Automatically close comments on articles older than [n] days".

  6. Hi Justpi,
That fixed it, I thought that option closes the possibility for commenting after n days, and not stop displaying the commets after n days. Regardless, now the comments show.
    Thanks.

  7. @aliencoder - as your problem is now fixed, I've removed the Modlook tag.

    @justpi - thanks! :)

  8. You're welcome.

"I thought that option closes the possibility for commenting after n days, and not stop displaying the commets after n days."
You're right, that's what happens in most themes. What you saw happens only in Nishita and a couple of other themes.

  9. My blog is starting to make it difficult for folks to comment. I found two comments from legitimate commenters in the spam. Another has told me she can only post a comment via her phone. I've never had any trouble like this before. There's no plugins or anything new added lately to the blog.

I wonder could someone check to see if any thing is amiss that I can't see myself via the dashboard.
