i dont want the above on my HOME page, below my posts etc..i tried to disable the comments etc following guidelines to no avail!

This means you didn't study the guidelines carefully enough. Disabling comments in Settings > Discussion becomes your new default: it will apply to future posts/pages, but it doesn't apply to already published posts/pages. The latter need to be edited or quick edited or bulk edited.
