Complete emptying blog

  • Hi, I’d like to competly emptying my blog called famillebois.wordpress.com to achieve a complete new import from a Posterous backup.

  • You can quickly remove your contents by deleting them in bulk.
    Alternatively, we can empty the whole blog for you, but that will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files.
    Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

    If you are sure you want to proceed, please reply to confirm the name of the blog you want us to empty.

  • Hi, I’ve just made the import from the Posterous XML file and I got a problem with accents.
    The entries of the the blog are in French and all accents are replaces by ‘??’.
    Is it normal, can we do something to fix this?

    I have the same problem. After looking at the XML file, it appears to be a problem with the Posterous backup, and not WordPress itself. But as you’re likely experiencing too, Posterous support is non-existant. Maybe someone at WordPress knows how to get ahold of them to fix this?

  • Yes, you’re right s4xton.
    I’ve just checked on the XML file from Posterous.
    It’s a bad news!
    It seems impossible to fix only with this file. It is not a bad encoding in the file but a bad conversion during the generation of it.
    No way to find solution except if Posterous’s team does the job and it’s not their current concern I think :(

  • @benbois: I just wanted to confirm that the team here at WordPress.com is aware of the corruption issue with some character sets (the characters seem to “break” at the point of a backup file generation) and our developers reached out to Posterous. We don’t have any news to share so far, but will update our users once there are any changes.
