Conditional Permalink Hack?

  1. I have a legacy web site that I want to move into WP. All the content on the site since 2003 follows the /YY/name/ pattern, which I can replicate as a permalink in WP. However, all the content from 1999-2002 uses /YY/MM/name/.

Is there a way to conditional support a legacy permalink for older content? Any tips, hacks or suggestions would be appreciated.

  2. Not with what we have here at wp.com as we can't modify our permalinks.

You can do it with regular wordpress hosted elsewhere if you're interested. You need to be discussing that over at http://wordpress.org though.

  3. thanks for the tip. I'm on my way.

  4. Not a problem :)
