Confused on how to link existing blog and domain to wordpress.com

My website OrganicandUrban.com is up and running, but I'd like to have it on my wordpress.com account so I can have followers more easily see my posts. I tried to map the domain, but it deleted all my content.

How should I go about doing this? I'm sure someone has wanted to do this in the past, but I couldn't find a specific post on it.

    Thanks so much,

    Thomas Boyden

  2. You gave both a self hosted website and a free hosted blog. Your website cannot be embedded into your free hosted WordPress.com blog.

I'm not clear on what you are trying to do so please expand on what you are trying to achieve. Note that I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread and be patient while waiting for their response.

So, my blog on organicandurban.com is not able to embedded into wordpress.com? I can't link as a dubdomain. If I had known this, I would have started a blog here and upgraded to premium.

My website is a wordpress blog, just not wordpress.com.

  4. I can't link as a [s]ubdomain.

On WordPress.com, you can use a subdomain of a domain that you already own as your blog’s domain. For instance, if you already have a website up at mjtrim.com, and your WordPress.com blog is at mjtrim.wordpress.com, you can put your blog in a subdomain of that website, such as blog.mjtrim.com. This is called Domain Mapping. Your old WordPress.com address will still work, but we will automatically redirect traffic from your old address to your new one.

Thank you, my problem was I tried to map directly. I think I understand now, no need for staff to help out.

    I appreciate it.

So I just did the subdomain thing, but I have no clue if it worked. It doesn't seem to be working. This is so frustrating. I just want to have ONE blog connected to this site. Giving up for now.

NOW I see what I did wrong. I put my domain as blog.organicandurban.com, when I should have put it as organicandurban.com - Could a staff member change this? If that is changed, I believe I am good to go.
