I am trying to connect to the server using Filezilla.
It is not allowing me to connect with the host name I am entering. I am using my blog website name (ftp://webname.wordpress.com).
I was told that WordPress could use multiple servers to connect. Have you heard of this?
Can you tell me how you have got it to work, or if you have encountered problems like this.
We can't do anything with ftp here. You have to do everything through the web interface or an offline blog editor.
I think you probably have a wordpress.org blog and need to be at the forums over there. WP.com uses different software and has different restrictions so I'm afraid we can't help you.

What theme are you using? Check out the CSS tutorials at the top of the forum for help in using background images.
Why would you need to FTP? Just use the Uploading box under the Write Post box.
You might get more help if you start a new thread with the actual question in it. The FTP question is irrelevant to the background image question.

You cannot upload themes here at wordpress.com. You are limited to the themes under presentation > themes.
And please do not post different questions in a current thread, it's called hijacking a thread and is not a good thing to do. Start a new thread instead.
