Content Farm Site Stealing my Work

  1. I got a pingback notice from a website, and assuming it was just a legit link in a wordpress blog, I OKed it. Later when I checked, it is some content farm website that simply copied my entire blog without permission (placing it's own ads in the middle). How can I find out if it was indeed a wordpress site, and if it is how can I get them to cut it out?

The blog I need help with is nucambiguous.wordpress.com.

  2. If you're currently signed in to Wp.com, just go to their site. If you see the grey admin bar at the top, it' shosted by WordPress.com and you can just use the Report This Blog function to report it for scraping.

  3. Wow! That was fast. Thanks. No grey bar, so I guess it's not a WP site. Why did the pingback come through the comment system, then?

BTW, I like your very Pacific Northwest avatar (I'm from Portland).

  4. Thanks for the avatar comment. I may be down to Portland soonish.

If it's not hosted by WP.com, you can still take action. See here: http://manolofood.com/whine-journalism-and-how-to-bring-the-splashback/

The pingback showed up through the comments system here because it was a pingback to your site here.

  5. Wow. Great post. Thanks.

  6. You're welcome. Go get 'em!
