Content not showing after account transfer

  1. Hi, I’m a newbie here.

I moved my hosting & domain from one GoDaddy acct to another. The domain name remained the same. GoDaddy walked me through the move and said everything is in place on their end. I activated my theme in my acct. My home page shows up, but none of the links to the other pages work. I checked on my admin page and all of my content is there. How can I get my content to show up and the links to work? Please note everything on the old acct has been deleted so accessing it again is not an option.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

The blog I need help with is morganberg.com.

  4. mobe26,

It's hard to tell exactly what's going on without looking at the actual account, but what you've described sounds a lot like you're missing the necessary .htaccess redirect for your site.

If that is, in fact, the problem, there's a very easy fix. Just access your permalink settings in the WordPress admin area. Take note of the currently selected setting, then deactivate permalinks by switching to default and saving. Your site should not be working, but you won't have permalinks. If you change permalinks back to the desired setting, WordPress automatically creates the .htaccess file you need, and things should be back to the way you had them before, but now the pages will work.

    Hope that helps.
