copy paste URL for video from youtube

  1. Every time I copy a url of our you tube video to link area it will not upload to the website? What do I do?

The blog I need help with is fullcirclesd.com.

  2. I suggest you scroll down to the youtube troubleshooting section:
Make sure the YouTube link is not hyperlinked.
Make sure to place the YouTube URL or shortcode on its own line. This means there should be no character or whitespace before or after the URL/shortcode.

  3. This is the youtube shortcode for that video below. Change nothing in it at all. Copy and paste it all onto a single line.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3s-ITP7s1Y&feature=youtu.be]

    refer to http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#embedding-with-a-shortcode

  4. Thank you. I have tried that and still not working. I just am stuck. This is the first time trying to do these types of things. I am sure it is on my end.

  5. I am coping and pasting the URl and what you sent me and it doesn't appear on my website/blog when complete.

  6. It works properly on my test blog so that means you did not copy the whole shortlink including the [square brackets] and paste it onto a line all by itself in the body of your post. All you do is copy this:

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3s-ITP7s1Y&feature=youtu.be]

and paste it on a line all by itself yin your post. That's it.

  7. Ok got it. I wasn't copy and pasting in the body of the post. I was going to the link category and putting in the URL. So thats it! Thanks alot. Pretty easy I guess ; - )

  8. Lots of things that drive us cray when trying to figure them out prove to be easy when someone else helps. Best wishes with your blog. :)

P.S. I recommend using the step by step tutorial Staff have linked to the bottom of your admin page at http://learn.wordpress.com

  9. Thanks again. I was wondering if you could help me once more. I am trying to add a paypal donation button here and I am doing again what I think I am suppose to do. I have tried it in the body of the post and also on the link and it is not appearing. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  10. Yes: go to the main forum page and do a search for "Paypal button" and you'll find this has been answered lots of times. I answered it twice today already.

  11. ok I found some info and decided to just copy the link on your explanation page of the button I wanted and copy and pasted it to the page on wordpress. So donation button now appears, but when I click on it, it doesn't take me to the pay pal site. It doesn't do anything. Isn't it suppose to?

  12. You have to follow all the steps in the Support document to attach it to your merchant account at Paypal. Do you have a merchant account at Paypal?

  13. Yes I have a merchant account and created the button in paypal and did everything i believe it told me and word press info told me but when I go to paste the link in the body of the page, and update it, it only shows a code. Now when I copied one of the wordpress button codes it appeared but it didn't connect with paypal. So not sure what is next?

  14. The link for paypal is active and takes you to the paypal site, but I can't get the button to appear. How do I do that?

  15. You need to put it in the Text editor. That's where you always have to paste code.

  16. After putting button there I followed these instructions- but when the button is clicked it still doesn't make it live?

13.Next, you need to add a link on your image. Copy the link provided in the Paypal Email area from Step 6 on this page. Click the image in your visual editor, then click the link icon and paste the PayPal code into the Link URL field.

And that’s it! Preview or publish your post, and test your button to ensure that it’s working properly.

  17. I have put it in link and in body of post and either way it does't work. Is text editor when you click link?

  18. Help I am following all directions to my knowledge and I cant get the donation button to go to my paypal. I have the visual button on my edit page and I have followed this step......what do you think the problem is?

13.Next, you need to add a link on your image. Copy the link provided in the Paypal Email area from Step 6 on this page. Click the image in your visual editor, then click the link icon and paste the PayPal code into the Link URL field.

And that’s it! Preview or publish your post, and test your button to ensure that it’s working properly.

  19. I see it on your Donate page but it's not working. Did you post the PayPal URL into the Page title there? I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  20. Do you want Donate in the menu bar to go directly to the donation system on PayPal, or do you want it to go to your donation page on the blog?

  21. I tried posting the paypal url in 3 different places. By pressing the link icon picture to add a new link, by pressing the Link word in text edit and copy pasting the url and even just directly in the body of post. Either way the button does not work.

I want people to be able to go to the donation page and read the contents and choose to click on the donate button within the page to donate through pay pal.

    Please let me know.

  22. Right, there aren't three ways to do it, just the one way detailed in this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

From what I see there, that hasn't been done yet.

  23. My words might not be the right lingo in my explaination. I have thought I have done how it is explained. I have tried varies ways because apparently I don't understand. So I figured one way would be it. Perhaps you or someone can explain more simply for a newbe how and where to past the url to make the button go live. Thank you.

  24. Sure, let's start over since your current page has the PayPal URL inserted into the page slug and a few other things that are wrong.

First, create a new page called "Donate"

No, in that page follow the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ to insert a linked Donate button into the page content, not the title.

Once that's done, let me know the URL of the new page so I can take a look.

  25. I'm having an issue embedding YouTube videos. I copied the url, pasted it in the body of my text. When I look at my actual blog, there is no video, but there is the link to the YouTube video. I returned to my text page in admin, and saw that the url was in a different color. So, I unlinked the url so the type is black. However, when I look at the actual blog, the hyperlink url remains. Any ideas?
    Here is the blog: http://nittygrittydirtman.wordpress.com

    Thanks.

  26. I figured it out! I needed to use the shortcode and the brackets at the start and end of the url.
