Create pages which don't show in the nav bar

  1. I'm a new WP user and am building a static site via pages. In the nav bar I have a parent tab that has about 50 children, too many to have them in the drop down. I was thinking I could have the main page for the parent have links to the children. I think that to do this I need to be able to create pages that don't appear in any drop down. Then I can have the parent page link to them as part of the parent page.

How do I create pages that don't appear in any drop down? Is there a better way to accomplish my goal of having a parent tab and 50 children?

Is there a limit as to the number of children in a parent drop down in the nav bar?

The blog I need help with is mormonsite.wordpress.com.

  2. You will have to create a custom primary menu and then simply not put those menus into the custom menu you create.

  3. If you need further information for creating a custom primary menu then this article is helpful > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/06/17/custom-menus-arrive-at-wordpress-com/

  4. Ahh... I see. That makes sense. Thanks to both of you for your suggestions!

  5. Works great!

  6. Yay! I'm so happy to hear you succeeded. Happy blogging. :)
