Hi,
I'd like to have only a summary of each post, rather than the post in full on my blog. When I have longer blog posts, I'd rather just have a shorter section of it showing so that if readers want to see it, they can click on it.
Can anyone help me out? Is this possible to do?

Yes. There are several ways we can split content. The most common one is to insert the more tag into your posts and that's what you want to do.
