creating link in text

  1. Can someone tell me how to make a piece of text (for example - a web url) into an active link?
I've just set up a 'Contacts' page on my blog (pretty new to this) and would like my main web address to be a live link
    thanks
    Mari

The blog I need help with is marifrench.wordpress.com.

  2. Sure. This page is designed to help you add links to your posts or pages. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

  3. Every static page you create appears as a page tab in your top horizontal navigation and every one of them is a URL. This is the URL (link) for your Contact page > http://marifrench.wordpress.com/contact/

  4. If you want to embed a link to your Contact page in text the following is the format:
    <a href="http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/">Contact</a>

  5. Thanks for the prompt info timethief,
although what I actually meant was how to create a link to my internet site rather than to a place within the blog itself, ie someone clicking on the url in my contacts page where I've listed it would be taken direct to my website where they could see more of my work?
If this is possible of course, but I will check out the support page you mention.
    cheers!

  6. hi again, I've just checked out that support page you mentioned and have made it work.
    many thanks!

  7. You're welcome and happy blogging. :)

  8. ... someone clicking on the url in my contacts page where I've listed it would be taken direct to my website where they could see more of my work?

I'm wondering if setting up a custom menu in your horizontal navigation bar with a ldirect link to your website would not be better for you. Please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
