I am looking to create a new blog: suryaj.wordpress.com. It gives me an error message saying "Sorry, that site is reserved!" but when I try to navigate to that address nothing exists. Its quite possible that I might have created this blog a while back and never used it, how do I free it up or at least connect it to my current user name (jakhotia)

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username.
What you'll need to do in this case is register a new blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
