CSS Customization for Profile Theme

  1. I'd like to change the width of the "Profile" theme I am using for my farm's blog. I am aware there is a section to enter my own CSS customization to do so. In fact, I'm looking at it right now. But I'm not familiar enough with CSS. So how do I make the post body wider (not the sidebar)? I've already purchased the customization feature... I just don't want to mess up the whole layout in the process. I'm sure there's just a snippet I can paste in there, correct? Any pointers? Google is just a mess of too much overwhelming information. I don't have the time for this, guys! I'm a farmer!

    The blog I need help with is geecreekfarm.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi, you can increase the overall width of the content area by adjusting the max-width value in the following. Go to Appearance > Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text and paste in the following and adjust as desire. The sidebar and content area are individually set in percentage widths, so both are going to increase in width, but the bulk of the increase will be in the content area. By keeping the proportions between the content and the sidebar consistent, it retains the responsive width design of the theme and will work on all screen sizes and devices.

    .row {
        max-width: 980px;
    }
  3. Thank you!

  4. You are welcome.
