CSS for container background colour

    Hi,

    I have been trying to find a correct CSS code for changing the container background colour but none of the codes I have found on the forum has been working on my Sundance theme. Could you please advise how to get the background behind post text and widget side bar to simple white?

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    -Saana

    The blog I need help with is livenowdreamlater.wordpress.com.

  2. To remove the container background color on the Sundance theme, add this to your Appearance > Customize > CSS editor:

    body.custom-colors #page,
    body.custom-background.custom-background-image-empty #page {
    	background: none;
    }

    Here is a screencast showing how I figured out what CSS selectors to use:

    Your instructions have been quite helpful this far so thanks once more. But I can't figure out the reason why on my "Where have I been" page the two paragraphs between the maps are still in black and I can't find correct CSS to change it. Could you give a tip why is that? Thanks again!

    That's because you've added some inline CSS to those paragraphs within the post. You can see it if you flip to Text (HTML) view:

    <span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: source-sans-pro-1, source-sans-pro-2, 'Open Sans', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Euroopan kartta näyttää hieman paremmalta, vaikka onhan sielläkin vielä käymättömiä maita. Ehkä maailmanvalloituksen sijaan olisikin parempi keskittyä ensin täydentämään tämä kartta. Siitä olisi sitten hyvä jatkaa maailmankartan väritystä.</span></span></span>

    <span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: source-sans-pro-1, source-sans-pro-2, 'Open Sans', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The map of Europe looks a little bit better, even though there are still countries that I haven't visited. Maybe I should concentrate first to fulfill this map instead of conquering the world. After the Europe is fully green, I could continue colouring the world map.</span></span></span>

    If you remove all the span tags that should do the trick. Don't forget to remove the closing </span> tags, too!

    Thanks so much for this. I have lots to learn still, slowly but surely I'm getting there, thanks for all the helpful staff and happiness engineers on the forum! :) By the way, I still want to do something for the appearance to make my blog look nice and reader friendly before I start my daily posting. So if anyone has any suggestions or tips, I would love to hear them! ;)

    You might want to post this as a separate question outside of the CSS Customization forum, where more people will see it and it won't get lost. You could also check out The Daily Post, which is full of tips on making the most of your blog - both the appearance and the content:
