CSS missing from theme

    I just bought a theme called Consultant off of themeforest.com. When I went to install it to my wordpress, it failed. The reason it failed is because it said the style.css stylesheet is missing. I tried unzipping the folder and redoing it but it keeps failing. I am VERY new at this stuff so I don't know a whole lot about wordpress.

    I am trying to avoid contacting themeforest because I had such a hard time buying the theme in the first place, their support team was awful. Can anyone please help?

    Are you aware that this is the WordPress.com support forum, that there is no DTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install any third party themes?

    There is no upgrade that you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to upload third party themes to a free hosted WordPress.com blog. To do that you must hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install.

    The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are those found here > Appearance > Themes and there is no upgrade you can purchase that changes that.

    This support forum is only for blogs hosted at WordPress.com like the one linked to your username. If you question is about a self-hosted WordPress.org blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums. http://wordpress.org/support/

    Thanks for your help. I just started working for a company and they want to me update their website. I don't know if it is off of wordpress.com or wordpress.org though.

    Sorry I feel dumb! I just have no idea about this stuff.

    Also, I had previously downloaded free themes off of other websites and installed them just fine...

    That's not a free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot help with it. I got a warning message saying the site is a black hole exploit site! Thank goodness my security program handled the threat.

    That reference is to a WordPress.ORG sites, not to WordPress.COM sites. The two are completely separate and different. That's why I posted this link above:

    The site you have been asked to work on has security issues. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackhole_exploit_kit
    Those issues are your priority, not the theme.
