CSS removed my custom image header

  1. I just upgraded so that I could edit my CSS and before I even changed anything, it removed my custom image header (that I had uploaded before upgrading to CSS) and replaced it with the original one that comes in the template. I've tried to edit the CSS to change it but have been unsuccessful.

    I'm using the Neat! theme. Help???

  2. I had the exact same problem, even down to the time I bought the CSS and my theme. I've tried just loading the basic image on the custom header under presentation. I can't get it to reload from scratch. I mailed support and hopefully they'll have a solution if no one else has any ideas.

  3. There are probably at least half a dozen "my header is gone" threads in the forum right now. Some of the others who have experienced this problem have found solutions, so click on the Header tag or do a brief search and I'm sure you'll find something relevant. If not, staff will be in shortly and looking at it, as it's obviously something concerning a lot of people.

  4. Thanks and will do. I literally saw this when I began checking or a solution. I'm going through them now. Thanks again.

  5. Perhaps Andy's post in this thread will be helpful http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=6324&replies=23# ...
    Check out Andy's point entitled Second. I apologize, in advance, if it's not helpful.

  6. I saw the post earlier and I'm still trying to decifer some of it. I bought the feature to learn, so I'm a relative novice. Though something has changed because now there is an image and the text from the original header (pre-CSS), but its sort of double imaged in an odd way. It's good enough so that I don't freak, but I'll have to figure out what changed since I didn't do anything and the CSS info hasn't either.

    If you have any ideas, here is the url: http://myhusbandcooks.wordpress.com/

    Thanks in advance!

  7. I clearly have a guardian angel out there. It appears to have repaired itself. More likely the wordpress guys have been helping me out. So if it is them, thank you so much!

  8. I feel now like I'm spamming this forum, but the problem has returned. I've touched nothing. So its back to square one. Thanks again everyone for your help so far.

  9. @husband
    Your's is not an isolated problem. There are 3 forum threads going on this topic now. And the reason the coming and going is happening is because our beloved geeks in the backroom are frantically working to fix it. See Mark's post in this thread http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=7070&replies=6Please be patient. :)

  10. Ah, OK, good. My header image disappeared too.

  11. Please read the post immediately above yours and be patient. :)

  12. Ditto here. My "Neat" custom header disappeared sometime between yesterday and today. I've tried replacing it but no luck. Hopefully someone is just tinkering with the code and will have things right as rain again soon.

  13. Your's is not an isolated problem. There are 5 forum threads going on this topic now. 14. Problem solved!

    The code that corresponds to the header image looks something like this with the image gone:

    #header {
    background:#8EBAFD url('images/logo.gif') no-repeat;
    height:150px;
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }

    If you add -image to background, the header image will appear:

    #header {
    background-image:#8EBAFD url('images/logo.gif') no-repeat;
    height:150px;
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }

    I did it and it worked. I hope this works for you as well.
