current email in my settings is defunct, Unable to change

  • Currently by blog tethulika.wordpress.com is showing an email ID that is no longer in use. Thus I am unable to get comment notifications.
When I tried to change it in my personal settings, the screen is giving me an error message stating the ID is in already use. Actually, that is my ID. How can switch to the active ID?
    Thanks
    Malathi

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • We have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com.

Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

  • Thank you. I tried to change in the personal settings, but it is not letting me change. I keep getting the same error message that the new ID is already in use.
Actually, that does not make sense to me since, responses from this page are delivered to me at the current ID

  • Resolved after creating a new email ID. However, I am not sure the logic behind not allowing me to use an email ID, which I have been using for another blog.
    Thanks all the same.
