Custom background picture showing under text

  1. When I customise the Chateau theme using a background image this shows through the text rather than just being visible at the sides. Any advice or suggestions gratefully received!

The blog I need help with is 0lem.wordpress.com.

  2. Do you have a custom design upgrade and is this a CSS editing question?

  3. No, just using Appearance > Background in the dashboard. Thanks!

  4. That's the way the theme is designed. In some themes the content area is transparent and in some it isn't. You can't change this without the Custom Design upgrade.

  5. Oh, OK. Thanks very much. Is there a way of finding out which ones have a transparent content area and which don't?

  6. You're welcome.
If you mean a list, no. You can see all the themes in action here:
    http://theme.wordpress.com/
In general, the themes that aren't transparent are the ones in which the whole content area or each section of the content area is framed and already set against a light grey or other background.

  7. I had hoped for a list (or a comment along with the other theme info), but that's a helpful way of working it out.
    Many thanks!
