Custom CSS with preprocessor

  1. I'm using the Hero theme and the (hosted) custom CSS upgrade. It seems to work OK, except for the option to use a CSS preprocessor doesn't. I don't care whether I use LESS or SASS, but neither seems to work.

    For example, if I'm using SASS and do this:

    $background: #00FF00;

    ... then later on ...

    #page {
    background-color: $background;
    }

    Then my defined color does not show up in the generated CSS. When I look at the CSS my browser actually gets, then background-color line isn't there at all.

    The blog I need help with is drool.ws.

  2. I tested this example:

    $background: #00FF00;

    #page {
    background-color: $background;
    }

    I used the Sass preprocessor option. The example worked in my test without any problems both for previews and after saving. Would you mind trying that example one more time and let me know if it still doesn't work for you?

  3. Ah, I had a really embarrassing syntax error at the beginning of my CSS. That was the only real problem. Thanks!

  4. Whew! (to it not being a bug, not to the syntax error)

    Thanks for posting back to say it's working as it should be! If you find any other troubles, don't hesitate to contact us again. Sometimes it really is a bug (we had one with preprocessors recently) and I'd like to get those kinds of things fixed sooner rather than later so I'm happy to help test!
