Hi, I'm the content editor of an online magazine using a wordpress.com engine to post articles, videos, etc. Our unregistered (anonymous) users who post comments on our content appear with default Gravatar Identicon images by their names.
However, we would like to customize our unregistered users' default avatars in a very particular way. I found this page (http://buildinternet.com/2009/02/how-to-change-the-default-gravatar-in-wordpress/), which details how to replace a gravatar default image with a particular image, but for our online magazine, we want unregistered users' avatars to appear as one random avatar image among several. It is not necessary that the same unregistered users have the same randoml-selected avatar each time they post, but this would be preferred, I suppose.
Does anyone know if doing this is possible, and if so, would you have any idea on how to do so? How complicated is the code?
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area. Perhaps it should be categorized under "support."
