custom domain

  1. domain pointing to the wrong site. i imported my blog from posterous. den changed namservers on to point domain to wordpress. added the domain to wordpress. now domain still pointing to posterous and has no content. also, it appears like my blog is listed twice under my wordpress profile.

The blog I need help with is sanityafineline.com.

  2. ckfio.wordpress.com is my account. if i make it the primary it looks fine.

  3. It can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet - you are less than 72 hours

    Oops, No Primary Site Set

There is no primary domain set for ckfio.wordpress.com. This means that although sanityafineline.com will forward to the site, sanityafineline.com will appear in the browser address bar.

  4. thanks. i have set the primary to be sanityafineline.com as well as ckfio.wordpress.com. ckfio shows my content, sanity...still goes to posterous. so at the moment, i left ckfio.wordpress to be the primary.

also, any idea why under MyBlogs sanity appears twice?

  5. You have a local caching issue - your blog loads fine for me - just to the WordPress.COM base blog -

  6. what happens when you go to my custom domain? sanityafineline.com

  7. what happens when you go to my custom domain? sanityafineline.com

I end up at: http://ckfio.wordpress.com/ - with that showing in the browser window

At some point you should set the primary to sanityafineline.com so your visitors and search engines will see your custom domain name

  8. so i made http://sanityafineline.com the primary and this is what happens:

    /Users/ckfio-wikot/Desktop/Screen Shot 2013-01-14 at 9.49.15 AM.png

  9. oops. it's an error message from safari stating that there are too many redirects occurring. i think somewhere, somehow, this is still trying (at some point) to reach posterous. =(

  10. http://sanityafineline.com/ loads fine for me and shows the mapped domain name in the browser address line - have you tried clearing your browser cache? It seems like you have some bad address info cached in your system somewhere

  11. yes. i've tried, even from different computers and have the same issue. i don't get it.

  12. You are still under the 72 hour guideline that the support documents state as the time required for changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet - so all I can do is suggest that you be patient - you will be the last one to see the changes due to caching issues

  13. thanks for all your insight.

  14. You be welcome & good luck
