   I purchased a custom domain a few weeks ago. When I type in the URL, it redirects to my wordpress URL (matthewsm1th.com redirects to http://matthewsm1th.wordpress.com). Is this the way it's supposed to work? I thought that the shorter, custom URL would be the one used.

   A possibly related issue: on my WordPress dashboard, I frequently get a message that says "Tip: You’re one step away from using matthewsm1th.com as your blog address. Click here to activate matthewsm1th.com." I click the link, but the page simply refreshes (often with the same tip written at the top).

   Any ideas?

   The blog I need help with is matthewsm1th.wordpress.com.

   In your blog click Store in the top right of the left column, then click Domains
   On that page will be the blog address and the custom domain address.
   Make sure the button for Custom domain is checked
   Then click 'Update Primary Domain'
   and it should all just work.
