  2. I'm viewing your blog and I'm seeing custom fonts. These are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise:
clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/
confirming third party cookies is enabled http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=61416
    confirming JavaScript is enabled http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
confirming Flash is updated http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and if required installing the latest version of Flash http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
    trying another browser

If those do not work for you then we need to know
    (1) how you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com. The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    (2) exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

  3. Rats! I posted the wrong thing above. Please ignore that.

all appears in bold and italicized.

I think thta sounds like the result of copying and pasting from elswhere into a post and suggests there are open HTML tag in one of your posts. For copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text and here http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/#using-word-cleanly

Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

Posts > All Posts, change all your latest posts to Draft, click Update, change them back to Published, click Update again. (You can edit all of them at once: tick the square in front of their titles then select Edit from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click Apply.)

If that doesn't work see: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

  4. Hello Timethief,

Thank you for the speedy reply, it is much appreciated. I will try what you mention in the first reply.

When I say all appears italicized, I mean the sidebar text and font fluctuates as well - no copy and paste there. Odd.

    Thank you kindly,
    Gneiss Moon

  5. The first reply was not a good one. I'm sorry I posted it and I've flagged this thread for Staff attention.

  6. I have theTwenty-Eleven theme, paid custom fonts are not working - they will appear correctly one minute, incorrectly the next.

I checked http://gneissmoonastrology.net/ just now and verified your font selections from Appearance → Custom Design → Fonts are showing up—and they are working properly for me. I tested with the Chrome 20 and Firefox 13.0.1 browser.

What you described about fonts showing up correctly one minute and incorrectly another could make it hard to track down the problem if there really is an issue on the WordPress.com side causing the trouble. The best chance we have of verifying would be to either catch it in action from our side, or get some details from you showing where the problem is originating. You might be able to do that by looking for any warning icons that appear in your browser status bar and taking a screenshot of the details if you see any errors or warnings after clicking the icon. Another way to gather data would be using a tool like Firebug for Firefox which allows you to view errors and warnings in a console tab.

Another possibility is that your local network is having trouble loading font resources. Checking the console tab I mentioned earlier may help pinpoint something like that.

Are you still experiencing the problem you described where custom fonts only work some of the time for you?

I followed all the troublehooting tips....cleared cache, upgraded browser, etc. Raleway header, FF Dagny text & body - all appears in bold and italicized.

I checked this post as an example:
    http://gneissmoonastrology.net/2012/07/11/all-aboard/

And I found that the 2nd paragraph appears less bold, but it looks to me like it's just a color difference. If you open the post for editing, you'll see that the 2nd paragraph has been wrapped in the following HTML which changes the color to a lighter gray and making it appear less bold:

    <span style="color: #808080;"></span>

I couldn't see the issue you described where all the text appears italicized. Are you still seeing that happen?
