custom header on pages

  I have two items: 1) The header is so big that I have to scroll down to see the post. 2) I would like to remove the header on my gallery pages. Is there a way to do that? The header is nice on the initial page but is way too dominant for the other pages.

  It would require the Custom Design Upgrade and changes to the CSS.
