   Twice today, I have found large segments of my hierarchical menu disappearing. I have re-adding several segments only to find them disappearing again. Any clues about resolving the problem. More background that may be relevant: Before the problem started, I noticed that the URL for a page did not match the Custom Menu structure that I had created (there was an additional page name in the path). I thought... it would be a good idea to create a new page with the appropriate Parent page, then copy the content of the previous page and paste it into the new page. Apparently this was not a good idea. In any case, if there are tips on creating a Custom Menu with the Twenty Twelve theme, I would appreciate those tips. I am having some concerns about continuing to use the Twenty Twelve theme.

   Once again, I tried to update the Custom Menu. I created some alternate pages (with the desired Parent pages), then re-assigned the Static Front Page to the new alternate top page. I saved the Custom Menu settings. All was well. Then I went back in to add some pages to the Custom Menu, saved, then went to view the site. ALL of the new menu items were gone! It is as though it is (now) not possible to update the menu!

   More background: It takes a long time to update the Custom Menu on my blog. A few weeks ago, I received frequent 503 errors, but none recently.

   Sorry you're having trouble with custom menus:

   Before the problem started, I noticed that the URL for a page did not match the Custom Menu structure that I had created (there was an additional page name in the path).

   This part is actually normal. The page structure won't necessarily match the custom menu structure, as the two things are independent of each other.

   I do see that a number of your custom menu items were deleted from your menu, but I'm not able to tell whether the deletions were performed manually or by the system.

   I will ask one of our developers to take a look. Thanks in advance for your patience as they may not be able to investigate until after the holiday period.

   Ahhh!!!

   The same just happened to me. Was making a small adjustment to my menu when all of the sudden a bunch of links just up and deleted. I've been trying to recreate some but it's not working. Worse yet, I don't even remember all the links I had previously posted!

   WordPress, please help with this! This is hours of work all of the sudden deleted without my doing.

   catholicreligionteacher - thanks for your report, I've passed it along to our developers along with that of uvtaxonomy. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, losing sections of your menu is no fun!

   We have made a technical change that we hope will fix the problem with portions of Custom Menus getting deleted.

   Please let me know if anyone is still having this issue. Thanks very much!
