Custom Page Links to Match Design

  1. Link: http://alter.darkgamer.com/

I have a category of reviews.
So my link is, http://alter.darkgamer.com/category/reviews with the way I've set-up permalinks. Or rather, /category/reviews/

My problem is, I can get the page to link to CATEGORY/REVIEWS, I cannot however, get the buttons at the TOP of the page, to display the CURRENT_PAGE_ITEM class when its ON that page. As it stands, its a black box with white text, and on a page, its a red box with white text.

Is there a way to get the buttons of a theme to show whilst linked to that page?
