Hmm. Would it be possible to allow customised smilies in the future? I like using them, and having to add each as a separate image is a bit of a pain. It would also be great if visitors to my site could comment using them too; that is, to have the smilies displayed in a row or a box, a little like what beccary has done.

You could also just upload them into an article (leaving it in draft mode if you don't want to have the article out there.) That's what I did for most of my link pictures along the right hand side of my blog.
