Customization

  1. When attempting to customize my website I always get stuck in the loading screen. The loading bar in safari loads completely, but nothing ever happens the design tools won't load.

The blog I need help with is bmctighe.wordpress.com.

  2. Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  3. Yes, but I don't experience it with both of my accounts. I have a sign in through my work email for blogs that I do to keep all my volunteers and parents up to date. However, with this blog (which is a different account), I do. I do not however, have multiple blogs on this account to test if it would respond differently. I assume it would.

  4. And...I accidentally responded with my other account...

  5. Can you please try clearing out your cache?

Otherwise send us a screenshot of the page where you're seeing this. You can upload the screenshot to your blog's media library.

  6. Yes, I already cleared my cache already. Here is a screen shot: http://bmctighe.wordpress.com/?attachment_id=51

  7. I messed up that first link, I think this one will work:
    http://bmctighe.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/2013-01-22-11-02-01-am.png?w=783

  8. I am having exactly the same problem. I have cleared the cache and cookies. I have loged out and logged back in. This is happening on all of my computers (MacBookPro and iMacs). I have tried different themes and it's the same problem with all of them.
I am looking forward to some help form someone - soon?
    Thankyou

  9. Shall I take this to mean that there is no solution? I have been testing WordPress to see if I want a paid account, and if I put all this energy into a blog only to have it crash, and no longer be usable, it isn't worth it.

  10. @bmctighe, this is not a normal thing. I'll tag this for staff attention for you. They will get things sorted out for you I'm sure.

  11. Thank you, and I hope so.

  12. You are welcome.

  13. I have deleted all my photographs and everything I have set up so far (not much as I was only starting to set up the blog) and everything is back to normal. I hope it will stay that way...

  14. I tried that to no avail...So, I just renamed that blog, and started a new one with my old name. This solution works for me now because I just started the blog, but I want a REAL solution in case this happens after a lot of content has been posted to the blog. I would like to upgrade my account, but want to know that it will be stable before doing so.

  15. yes, well I have paid the money, so I am hoping that it will work. Good luck..

  16. Could you please make sure that you've selected a page from the dropdown menu at the 'Settings' -> 'Reading' -> 'Front Page' setting on your blog's dashboard.

  17. Hi bmctighe, are you still experiencing this issue? Please let me know. Thanks!

  18. Hi everyone, could you please try again and let me know if it works for you now?

  19. Sorry it took me a while. I just ended up making a new blog since I had just started out. I went back and made the changes and it worked. The problem was that I did not have a page selected for my front page. Thanks for the help guys!
