Customize a specific page?

    Hi,

    I have a 2 column wordpress site (no posts, only pages). The sidebar contains a text widget with informtion on my product.

    This is a good setup for every page on my site except my product’s main sales page. I would like to do one of the following on this special page:

    – Have different information or no information in the sidebar

    – Have a custom page with a single column and no sidebar.

    Is there any convenient way to accomplish one of these for a particular page?

    This support forum is only for the use of bloggers who are having issues with free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.COM and you gave failed to post the URL starting with http:// for the blog in question. Please do that now so we can confirm which blog you are referring to and begin helping you.

    As this forum is only for bloggers who are having issres with or asking questions about free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM, and as wordpress.COM runs on different software than wordprtess.ORG runs on, we do require the URL for the blog in question starting with http://

    By providing us Volunteers with it we can be sure we are providing correct answers because the answers to the same questions are different answer dependant upon which software you are actually referring to.

    If you do not wish to provide that information then we Volunteers do not waste our time provinding answers based on speculation we simply tell you to file a support ticket with Staff. Why? Because on many days in this wordpress.COM forum up to 30% of those who post here are posting to the wrong forum and ought to be posting to wordpress.ORG.

    It would be helpful to know at least what theme your using. This may be possible with some of the newer wordpress.com themes that are customizable.

    Unless or until this blogger convinces us that he is actually referring to a free blog being free hosted by wordpress.COM knowing the name of the theme is not necessarily relevant or particularly helpful.

    Why?

    The themes for wordpress.ORG installs are not coded to run on our
    wordpress.COM software. All themes with the same names here at
    wordpress.com as the wordpress.ORG versions have been specially adapted
    by Staff so they can be run on our wordpress multiuser (wpMU ) blogging
    platform

    Also note that we bloggers cannot access the files and edit themes
    or templates on wordpress.COM blogs because all blogs wearing the same
    theme are using the same underlying templates. Only Staff can access and
    edit templates and themes because all edits made affect all blogs
    wearing the same theme.
