Customized Background-Image

  1. Hello there!
    I want to have a customized background-image when I use the function blockquote. In my CSS I have the following:

    blockquote {
    background-image: url('http://blabla.jpg');
    }

    The image is not shown, so I am wondering what I do wrong? I have uploaded the image on my blog as well on an external sever, using the correct image url. Can anyone help?

    Thanks a lot,
    Rebecca

    The blog I need help with is icing-sugar.net.

  2. The existing CSS uses the "background" declaration instead of the "background-image" declaration, so you have to use the same as the original. Make your block quote rule look like this and it will work. The only issue will be that any standard blockquote you use within text will also have the background image (cookies). If that is OK, then you are good to go. If you wish to also use standard text blockquotes as well as the ones you are using for the recipes, let us know and I can give you a workaround that you can use on a recipe by recipe basis within the posts themselves.

    blockquote: {
    blockquote {
    background: url("http://icingsugardotnet.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/img_1361-2.jpg") repeat scroll 0 0 transparent !important;
    }
  3. Oops, I got an errant line of code in there. Use this instead.

    blockquote {
    background: url("http://icingsugardotnet.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/img_1361-2.jpg") repeat scroll 0 0 transparent !important;
    }
