Customizing my facebook badge

    Hi, I'm new to wordpress and blogging (I just set my first blog up three days ago!), anyway, I'm hoping someone out there can explain to me how to customize a facebook badge in the sidebar of my blog so that it has a different, smaller, sleeker icon than the one that facebook offers. I downloaded various free icons that I would like to use, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them on my sidebar and turn them into a link that directs visitors to my facebook fan page. I am not looking for facebook share buttons for my posts or to have my blog posts appear on my fanpage. I just want a stylish icon that links to my fanpage. If anyone out there can help, please explain what I have to do like I'm a five year old idiot. Again, I'm VERY green. I'm using the Atahualpa Theme and I would like the icon to go in the right hand sidebar on my Home, About and Contact pages. Anyway to do this?
