Customizing the menu in The Columnist

  1. Hello,
    I'm afraid I need help in customizing the menu of my new blog. The theme is The Columnist. The blog I need help is: http://tascla-englischkurse-muenchen.de/. I found some information about it in the forum and found out that what I'd like to achieve is possible, but unfortunately none of the answers in the forum were about it.
    Basically, I'd like to make the menu font look like the one in my other blog http://tascla-sprachcenter.de/. The font is in both cases Proxima Nova, unfortunately I can't change its style in http://tascla-englischkurse-muenchen.de/ (it looks bold, too dark and too small in comparison to http://www.tascla-sprachcenter.de). I tried to make a class and selected it in the custom menu css class, but it didn't work. I also opened the source of http://tascla-englischkurse-muenchen.de/, but found it hard to spot the part referring to the menu style (I'm just a beginner). Could you please tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance.
    CT

  2. I can't change its style in http://tascla-englischkurse-muenchen.de/ (it looks bold, too dark and too small in comparison to http://www.tascla-sprachcenter.de).

    I checked the custom CSS for http://tascla-englischkurse-muenchen.de/ and I found that you were able to turn off the bold and you tried to adjust the font size using this CSS:

    .main-navigation a {
    	font-size: .813em;
    	font-weight:500;
    }

    That's close!

    To get the font size option to work there, you can use !important at the end of the font-size rule like this:

    .main-navigation a {
    	font-size: .813em !important;
    	font-weight:500;
    }
  3. Thank you very much!
