Cutline Header Links?

  1. Hi,

I just signed up for WordPress today and have a quick question about the page links across the main header.

I want to use the Cutline theme for my page but I was hoping to change the links across the top to "Tags" or "Categories" from my blog. For example if you looks at http://dcprosportsreport.com/ you'll notice he has different sport teams linked across the top, I was just hoping there would be a way to change the links?

When people view my blog I would like them to be able to click on the subject that interests them most, and I think having my main tags across the top would be the easiest solution.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. we can't change the link on our header, it's hard-coded that way. the blog you link to looks like it's self-hosted, which is why he's able to do so.

we have a variety of categories widgets available and also a tag cloud widget which your readers should find useful if they're searching for a specific topic.

  3. please excuse my former post, i misread your request. =) you could make a page (dashboard -> write -> write page) and place links to tags in your blog. that said, the categories/tag cloud widgets can still perform what you're looking for.

ps. i'm not sure if that's what you're asking, so please correct me if i'm mistaken.

  4. It's my understanding from reading a different thread on this here, that you can only create static Pages, which is what the DC Prosport Report has done for each group. Those are the links that show across the top of that blog.

Only the Main Page is dynamic and clicking on any Category creates a Page on the fly with all of the Posts on that tag. They've included an index of Categories in the left sidebar as well.

  5. There is, as far as I know, no theme that displays the tag list across the top, although there are several that have it at the bottom of the page, rather than in a traditional sidebar.

You'll probably find, unless you've got a dreadfully limited blog, that you're quickly using too many categories to have over the top of your blog. I think I have 180.

  6. Variety is the spice of life.. Currently at 185 here.. need to do some hierarchy organizing.
