   what is a featured image? I probably should know after 6 months but I'm afraid I don't. *hangs head in shame*
   Or point me in right direction. :)

   http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

   It varies with each theme used.

   For example, some blogs that use featured image will show a thumbnail image on their homepage, i.e: http://weheartreading.wordpress.com/

   My other blog I use will show the featured image on a slider homepage http://laplumenoire.co.uk/

   Thank you noirciplume. So it's like a coverall term for different types of header image and thumb nails.

   A featured image, is an image that is featured.
