dashboard and widgets problems

    I have two problems.

    1) When I open my dashboard page, nothing below "Your Latest" and "What's Up?" appears. The page skips to the WordPress logo and the Need Help box. I can't see the updates or news.

    2) When I try to edit my text widgets, I cannot save anything. I can't click on any links. It's like the links disappear, and the whole page is frozen, but it's not my browser. I can click out of the page.

    Support suggested that I post here. I use Firefox 2.0.0.9 (but the problems happen in IE also). I have a firewall, but I've had it for well over a month while the problems have only been within the last week or so. My blog's URL is fantasie117.wordpress.com.

    Thanks for giving all the correct details right up front. Support hours are closed for the weekend but staff are at work in the backend 24/7 and they do monitor these threads. Hopefully they will get to you very soon.

    I have an update. I managed to save the changes to my text widgets by refreshing the page. The links came back, and everything looked fine.

    I still have no dashboard, though. And I really don't understand why.

    Thanks for coming back with an update. I hopped over to your blog and I still have my blue bar there, so I don't know if that info is any help to support. You might want to contact them again now that the widget issue is solved and the one remaining probably needs help from the back end.

    I would first suggest logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies and then trying again. If that doesn't work, then as ellaella says, contact support.

    My widgets moved down the blog. I don't understand why.

    Usually when a sidebar falls it's because we have uploaded an image that's too large or we have copied and pasted text that is in a form and is too large to fit in the blogging space. We cannot help you at all though until you give us a link to your blog so we can see what's going on.

    If this is your blog http://majots.wordpress.com/ then using a firefox 2.10 and IE7 I can see that your sidebar is exactly where it ought to be.

    Which browser and version of it are you using?

    (1) http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/06/force-refresh/

    (2) The Cookie Dance
    step 1. log out
    step 2. clear your browser cookie
    step 3. clear your browser cache/temporary internet files
    step 4. close your browser
    step 5. go back and test

    Thank you, there were 2 images too large. The sidebar came up. ;)

    I've tried the cookie dance. No change. :( I'll try contacting Support again. They sent me here to the forums.

    Well what can I say? Your browser version is outdated. I use firefox 2.0.0.11 without any problem so I'm thinking you could upgrade your browser. Here's the link in case you choose to do that http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

    FF just released an update late last night, so try that. It's fixed a javascript problem I was noticing on my Windows 98 box. It might be the answer.
