Dashboard follower count not same as public count

  1. My follower count seems to be off. On my dashboard it says I have 82 followers (the correct count as far as I know) but my public profile says 106 followers, it even says "you and 105 others are following this blog" when I clicked the follow button. Is there any way to fix this display error?

The blog I need help with is artandcomposition.wordpress.com.

Do you have any from twitter, they could be the ones your looking for or email followers.

  3. Under my stats it says there are 0 email only follows, and I only have 2 followers on twitter. It's a twenty or so difference that's why it was so strange to me, I have no idea where that many extra followers could be displaying from.

  4. Is it also counting my facebook likes? With the facebook page+twitter it seems to be the amount...is there anyway to NOT include those counts in my wordpress blog count?

I think facebook countsthsy must if they make up the amount, they are automatic through wordpress.

    Hi there,
This is the result of searching. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/followers-issue/page/3?replies=78 What do you see there? I see that there is a wide spread issue with regrade to follow count display that Staff are working on. You can post into that thread and subscribe so you are notified of updates.

Hi TT, I said you would say different :)

I know its an old problem peoples count being out, that's why I never bother, they come they go, why worry to much.

  11. The problem is that unless one learns how to use user utilities they will never become a successful blogger. Unless bloggers who have been around for years teach new bloggers posting here how to search these threads turn into useless chat threads that do not resolve issues.

  12. Thank you dribblingpensioner, I didn't know that when choosing to share with other accounts it added your followers counts :) it's not a huge deal so I guess I'll just leave it as is. And timethief, I think you can do with being a little less rude, it's extremely off putting, especially for an issue that was so tiny and was resolved in only two responses, but thank you for the finger in the right direction.

  13. And I didn't mean that as an insult, I really am thankful for the point in the right direction, I just felt your response came off unnecessarily harsh is all

  14. dribblingpensioner and I know each other quite well as he has been here about 3 years now and I have been here answering questions for over 7 years. I was not rude and what I said to him is not for you to judge. In fact dribblingpensioner and I both know we are not to post into any support thread here unless we have a correct answer to provide. I provided it.

  15. I was talking about your response to my question, not his, it is quite clear you two know each other, it was your response to me that came off harsher than you may or may not have intended. And your response actually did not help my question at all; his did :) my question was about a function I did not know sharing pages had, whereas the thread you pointed me to was about follower counts being off in general (showing less than they actually had or misrepresenting followers). Anyways, thank you both for the responses.

  16. Are you done now or do you still need a soapbox?

@ lovelyone90, I was waiting for TT to come back she was not being rude, I know its hard for the likes of me to give the right answers, I think I did ok.

@ TT have you got many soapboxes :) to lend out.

  18. I'm apologizing to both of you and moving on.
