Dates in Premium theme Handmade

  1. Hi!

The dates in my newly bought theme Handmade shows in English only and I would love them to be shown in a more Swedish way:
Today it's Jul 16th showing. For me, I would prefer 16/7 or 16.7 for the
    .hentry .dater

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is bautawitch.se.

  2. Hi there. There is a specific forum for questions regarding that specific theme:

    http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/handmade

As the volunteers in this forum do not have access to that theme, we aren't able to help you with issues specific to it.

However, you might want to check to see if the Date Format of your blog is set the way you want it, by going to Dashboard > Settings > General.

  3. Im afraid that nothing happens if I change the date settings at the dashboard. I have already asked the Handmade-forum and they told me to ask you guys... :/ So now what?

    See: http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-dates-again?replies=2

  4. I don't see in that thread where you were told to ask here. What was said is that it's not possible for you to change the date format directly in that change because it would require editing the theme.

As was (sort of) suggested in the other thread, though, you may need to make sure your site is set to the correct language:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/language-settings/

If that doesn't work, it's not possible to change the date format with that particular theme.

  5. I have set both my blog language and my interface language to Swedish a long time ago so that is not the problem.

I guess this Premium theme is not so premium after all... :(

  6. Then, the way that the theme displays the date probably requires that it be "hard-coded" to display in a certain way, and since the developer was probably based in the US, the date would've been coded that way. You could always reply to the thread in the premium theme forum requesting that a change be made.

  7. I guess so... and I probably will because I want my blog to look beautiful!

Thank you for your quick response! You have been very eager to help out! :)

  8. You're welcome!. I know WordPress.com generally tries to be as international as possible, so hopefully it's something that can be done.

And your blog already looks beautiful. You obviously pay keen attention to your content and design. Keep up the good work.

  9. Sometimes it is possible to set a different date format using the translation for the theme. But this theme is not very "premium", because it does not provide such a possibility. :(
    http://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/sv/default?filters%5Bterm%5D=handmade&filters%5Buser_login%5D=&filters%5Bstatus%5D=current_or_waiting_or_fuzzy_or_untranslated&filter=Filter&sort%5Bby%5D=priority&sort%5Bhow%5D=desc

"Traction" does provide this for example:
    http://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/sv/default?filters%5Bstatus%5D=either&filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=652&filters%5Btranslation_id%5D=611101

I've modlooked this thread. Maybe someone from Staff can ask someone from the Theme Team to add this to the theme.

    Best Regards from Germany
    Torsten

  10. I thank you for that Torsten! :)

  11. @bautawitch let's continue the discussion in the initial premium-theme thread.

    I'm closing this thread now.
