Delete "Category Archives:..."

  1. hi everybody!

    Anytime I click on a category on my blog, it appears: "category Archives:..." on top of the page. Which CSS should I use to delete the "Category Archive:"?

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is orastones.com.

  2. There's a free workaround you may be interested in using to remove that heading on the top of Category Pages in a custom menu. if you are interested click this link http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/ Then scroll down to "Other options, special cases and tricks" and note f. Tabs for static pages but no page titles on the actual pages

  3. thanks for answering, but your tip does not work. It changes the page name to: &nbsp

  4. Aw ... I'm so sorry that's that's the case.

  5. I remember you advices me to purchase the custom design to change the CSS to solve the problem. What I did but, now, I can not find how to edit the CSS to delete that heading. :-(

  6. I am sorry but I don't help with CSS editing. That said, not to worry as others do and there is Staff support for the upgrade too. However, it's the weekend so it may take some time until someone else answers you.

  7. Ok, I appreciate your help. I'll be patient, as well as continue to look around to solve the problem.

  8. Are you the person on the picture? I mean is it your real photo?

  9. It's a n avatar ie. an image with all wrinkles and flaws removed lol :D

  10. I see :-D

  11. lol :D I'm a vain older woman.

  12. I'm trying other themes to find out if there are others that that not display Category Archive. I may definitely change my theme.

  13. I'm sure you are not that old :-) And how can a woman be vain?

  14. I'm the same vain older woman but I am now logged in under my other username account. I'm sorry we started chatting here because it's not in your best interest to keep posting to this thread. When we do that we move the timestamps on the thread further ahead and it will take longer to get Staff help. They work their way through threads in chronological order in accord with datestamps and timestamps. I apologize for not stating this earlier.

  15. I got nothing :-{
    You mean I should move somewhere else to get help or you are talking of our chat?

  16. What @timethief was talking about is that whenever you post to an existing thread, it puts it at the top of the queue, and we typically work from the bottom (older) to the top (newer) so it can take a little longer for you to get help in some instances.

    On Mystique, the theme you are currently using, the following CSS will remove "Category Archive" and leave the actual category name.

    .archive-title {
        visibility: hidden;
    }
    .archive-title span {
        visibility: visible;
        float: left;
    }
  17. @thesacredpath
    Good day to you. :)

  18. Howdy @timethief and g'day to you too.

  19. Ok, I now get how it works. Timethief was too deep in the thing. :-D

    I've solved it. Thanks a lot to you both. You've been a great help. I'll be so glad to work with you one day. :-)

    Take care and good luck with your business!

  20. @stpierrekouame, you are welcome and best of luck.

    hi @thesacredpath - i'm using the Adelle theme and also having the same issue trying to remove "category archive" from the header. I tried using the CSS you posted above but it didn't work. Let me know if you have any advice.

    The blog I'm trying to adjust is http://www.harponlife.com

    Thanks!

  22. Hi @harponlifeerika, since you are using a different theme, and since CSS is generally theme specific, can I ask you to create a new thread in the CSS Forum and I'll watch for it and help you out. Many thanks in advance.

  23. @harponlifeerika, I just took a look at your site and see you have gotten this taken care of in your theme. Great job!

    Hi @thesacredpath, thank you for the very quick reply! After some further research I did find the right code to remove it. I do have a few more questions though if you don't mind. I'll start a new thread.

  25. @harponlifeerika, no problem. Ask away. :)

  26. Hi!
    Now I'm sure I should have learned CCS programming. :-(
    Can anyone help me, in the CCS, with inserting the copyright "C" and some words on my blog?

    Thanks!

  27. Hi @stpierrekouame,

    You can either use
    ©
    or
    ©
    To display copyright symbol on the webpage.

    Kind Regards,
    Vinod Dalvi

  28. Hi @stpierrekouame,

    I had entered entity name and number of copyright symbol in my previous reply but it is converted in the actual copyright symbol automatically so i suggest you to check it on the following page.

    Best Regards,
    Vinod Dalvi

  29. Hi @vinoddalvi
    Yeah, I've seen the symbols, but I do not know the right CCS code to display it on the blog.

  30. Hi @stpierrekouame,

    Have you tried using entity name ( <pre>®</pre> ) or number ( <pre>® </pre> ) of copyright symbol displayed on the following page?

    Regards,
    Vinod Dalvi
